Funeral services for Virginia Wilhelmenia Zissett Sox, 77, of West Columbia, SC will be held at two o’clock p.m., Monday, February 3, 2020 at Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, Barnwell, SC with the Reverends Brett Gardner and Timmy Gunnells officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from four to six p.m., Sunday, February 2nd at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Wilhelmenia passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

Born in Barnwell County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Robbie Lewis Zissett and Arrie Adline Carroll Zissett and was the widow of George W. “Buster” Sox. She was a member of Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a seamstress and loved to crochet. She was very creative and enjoyed making unusual crafty projects to share with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters Arrie Regina Gatlin and Marie (Robbie) Peeples all of Barnwell; her sons Chester (Milan) Gatlin of Forrest City, NC, Lester (Jeanette) Gatlin of Barnwell, and Thomas Gatlin of Blackville; grandchildren, Dustin Nelson of Washington, D.C. Johnny Gatlin, Kristi Gatlin both of Barnwell SC; 1 great-grandchild Alexandria Nelson of Washington, D.C., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
